In class today, we started off by praying the Padre Nuestro (Our Father) lead by Chris. The opening topic for class was Tourists vs. Pilgrims. We said that Pilgrims travel to somewhere to gain insight about themselves and they use all of their sense to heighten the experience. Tourists however travel to learn more about whats on the outside of the place they are going, not the deeper meanings. They take pictures and they do not immerse themselves in the experience. Tourists also buy souvenirs to show off once they get back home. With this topic the 5 groups in class created posters of what we think of when we picture a tourist and a pilgrim.

Towards the latter half of class, we reviewed the Dunne article which we read for homework. We discussed how you must pass over and come back: you immerse yourself in different religions, you learn and experience with them, and then you go back to your own religion with increased knowledge. We watched two videos regarding Ghandi with these two quotes: 1. "I want to change their minds, not kill them for evils we all possess." 2. "I'm a Hindu, I'm a Christian, I'm a Jew, I'm a Muslim. Ghandi also found that light always penetrates darkness. There are two things he knows for sure: the law of truth and the law of love. Even if people are ignorant of these laws, they still exist.
